Grace: a gift with a high price

What is harder than living in a generation marked by sin and lust. We are living in a time where sex drives everything. How do you uphold standards of a healthy christian in a world that tells you everything you are learning biblically is invalid or grace covering.

Grace has become a word used to cover up sins that one knows they shouldn’t be partaking in. I myself am not spotless by any means on this subject, thats why I feel the passion flowing threw my veins to find a solution for each of us in this time. Grace has become a filler to help us walk more uprightly while we are actively sinning and asking God to bless us. This is not why Jesus gave us this gift. Jesus knew that life would be hard and come with challenges, grace is given freely to help us as we push forward to seek the face of Jesus in the midst of adversity.

You know what this means, the answer is simple to say but hard to live out… are you ready? Lay down your own desires and pick up the desire for the more of God in all areas of your life. Does that mean you won’t be standing face to face with your vice and be challenged to say No when all you want to do is say YES, no my friend it means just the opposite. You will be faced with that most likely more than once.

That is the very place where faith, trust, and heart are revealed. You see saying No the first time to something you have been saying yes to for days, months, or years, will be a huge challenge. But with each No you gain momentum, you take back ground. That No will become easier because you are increasing in faith, trust and heart posture toward the one who chose you and called you ACCORDING TO HIS PURPOSE. I think thats something we often forget, the bible doesn’t say “your purpose, Brooke,” it says “His purpose.” So am I ready to recognize that it’s not actually about me so that I can start living my life for the reason I was chosen and called?

Listen, I am not standing here throwing stones if that were the case I would be throwing stones of blaspheme. I am here in my weakness and brokenness saying lets find a solution, lets change the trajectory of this generation.

I want us to get back to the heart of the matter which is Jesus. The one who gave his life so that I could find mine. I am daily supposed to be becoming more like him instead I continually find myself trapped by decisions that dictate the path I’m setting before myself. He has always given us the beautiful freedom to choose, He will never make us choose His path. He’s so gracious that He sits back and watches us allowing whatever we want hoping we will choose Him like He chose us, so that He can use us.

In those moments of weakness use grace not to cover what you have done but to recognize the sacrifice that was made on your behalf. Grace is not free my friends it came at a high price. Yes, grace covers all sin but we have to get back to having a healthy fear of God so that we can reestablish what it looks like to make healthy decisions again.

With all that being said let me too remind you. Romans 8:31, “If God is for me then who shall be against me?” “Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9

We have nothing but hope moving forward because we are never out of his sight. He will be with us wherever we go whatever we do.

Lastly, He will never leave you and never forsake you. Its never too late to turn back. The enemy and your sin will tell you its too late you’ve gone too far, it’s a lie. If you forget how to pray just start by simply calling on the name of the Lord. Whisper Jesus. Soon the helper will join you and your Jesus will turn into the prayers you need.

Today is a great day to start.
