To be or not to be...Politically Correct

Politically correct is a term that’s constantly being thrown around these days. I felt the Lord showed me the other day that its actually robbing people of their authenticity. This is an oxymoron because you would think political correctness was actually helping people to because their authentic self but this isn’t true. It’s robbing us because it is forcing us to believe and accept everything that is thrown at us. Sometimes it feels as though daily we are being told, “we don’t call it that anymore,” or “you can’t say that.”  It’s become almost exhausting to be “politically correct.” This process is trying to force everyone into one reality and keep people from being offended. Sometimes I think we need to be offended then and only then can you turn and find what it is you’re running from.

Don’t get me wrong I love people and I want people to live their best lives and feel fully alive in who they are however, I do not want to be told that I must agree because it’s not ok to offend someone on their beliefs. I am a Christian and people offend or try to offend me on the regular. When that happens it actually forces me to look further into my belief and drives me to answers I wouldn’t have sought otherwise. This is why I think its ok to be offended sometimes. I feel it’s so important that we don’t lose sight of reality in this process. The world is screaming to be seen while forcing everyone to believe and see the same. I just want to encourage you to be authentically you. Don’t give into political correctness stand up for what is true and what you believe. Don’t outright offend people but challenge the mindset that says we all must think this way in order to not offend people.

You are powerful what you think matters what you believe matters. Let your voice be heard don’t be afraid to be fully alive in who you are and let God love the people you disagree with.

Lets love people but not lose sight of the one who matters the most. The world needs Jesus more than ever its time that we took a stand and challenged the mindset of a generation.

Lets fly,
