Hill Country

Every year the Sparks girls go on a girls trip to the hill country aka Blanco, Texas. The beauty out in the hill country is so refreshing. Sitting outside on the porch it feels like I am in a different country, the rolling hills, trees and clear skies is the perfect refreshment for this soul.

My aunt and I always plan to fly into San Antonio together and drive about 40ish miles to Blanco. The cell services isn't the greatest.. but isn't that kind of the idea about a "get away." We have friends that own a house there that we get to stay in but there are cute little towns around like Wimberley and Fredricksberg, I'm sure you could find great places there to retreat.

We always stock up on food and go only one day for an adventure. This year we decided to do a vineyard. HELLO, this idea was amazing. There are winery's all around we chose Wimberley Valley Winery. We did a private room due to the fact there was so many of us. Our bartender was the cutest and so much fun. She knew her wine and made sure we had a good time and lots of laughs. We ordered our favorite wines we had tasted, got a cheese & cracker platter and headed for the patio. The patio was perfection. It had lights hung, lots of seating, tree's for shade, and a swing. The atmosphere couldn't have been more perfect, it was a great way to spend the afternoon.

Downtown Wimberley was our next stop for a late lunch at The Leaning Pear (as recommended by our bartender). Can we say YUM. It was all natural farm fresh meals to die for. The back patio was so cute and surrounded with massive sunflowers. Totally recommend stopping by if your in the area.

Our last day my aunt and I headed out early to spend a few hours downtown San Antonio on the Riverwalk. We had our favorite prickly pear margaritas at Boudros. We had enough time to walk up to the Alamo and stop at the Market Square for a floral embroidered shirt and dress for myself and niece. Then off to the airport.
